How to set up manual texts

A straightforward path from installing the app to getting your first notification—no technical background needed.

  1. Install the QuickReplies app on your phone

Manual texts use a notification on your phone, so you need the QuickReplies mobile app installed first.

  2. Sign in on the app

Open the app and log in with the same QuickReplies account you use on the website. That way your rules and notifications stay in sync.

  3. Start creating a rule

Create a new rule either on the website or from the mobile app—whichever you prefer. You will choose who the emails come from, which words trigger the rule, and what happens next.

  4. Add a "Send a manual text" action

When you get to the actions step, pick Send a manual text. That tells QuickReplies to notify your phone when this rule matches, instead of sending a text automatically in the background.

  5. Choose who receives the text

You will be asked which phone number should get the prepared text:

    • Number from the email— QuickReplies looks at the email that triggered the rule and tries to find a phone number in that message. If it finds one, it uses that number when it prepares the text for you.
    • Custom— You type the phone number yourself. Use this when you always want texts to go to a specific number you choose.
  6. Write the message and save the rule

Enter the wording you want in the text message. When you are finished, choose Create rule (or the equivalent save button in the app) to finish. The next time an email matches your rule, you will get a notification; open it to review the text and send it with one tap.
